Your Journey with Pathfinders Wellness
You don’t need to have it all figured out to take the first step.

Whether you're just starting to wonder if therapy might help, or you're ready to dive in, this page is here to walk you through what happens next.

At Pathfinders, therapy is not just about healing — it’s about learning to navigate life with more clarity, resilience, and self-compassion. Our approach helps you become your own best therapist, while always knowing you can come back when new challenges arise.
Step 1: Curiosity & Contemplation
“Could therapy help me?”
That question alone is worth exploring. Many people arrive here feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain — and that’s okay. Therapy might help if you’re struggling with:
-
Emotional pain or past trauma
-
Anxiety, depression, or stress
-
Relationship or family challenges
-
Feeling disconnected from yourself or others
-
Repeating patterns you want to shift
Even if you’re not sure what’s wrong, therapy can help you sort through the noise.
Step 4: Beginning your therapy journey
When you’re ready, we’ll begin.
We’ll set up your first full session, review consent and confidentiality, and co-create a therapy plan tailored to your goals. We meet you where you are — whether that’s once a week or on a more flexible schedule.
Step 5: Assessment & Orientation
Understanding the landscape of your life.
Early sessions help us learn about your history, strengths, challenges, and the patterns you’re ready to shift. We’ll also share tools and frameworks to build emotional safety, resilience, and coping skills.

We don’t rush this. We lay a strong foundation so that therapy can be both supportive and sustainable.
Step 6: Engaging in Therapy
This is your space to grow, feel, and reconnect.
The goal is that over time, you’ll deepen self-awareness, process experiences, and build emotional and relational skills. Therapy may include:
-
Being curious about and better managing emotions
-
Healing past trauma at your own pace
-
Developing healthier boundaries and relationships
-
Reclaiming your sense of purpose and agency
-
Or countless other emotional, psychological and behavioural or relational concerns you may have
-

We draw from trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches and recognize that you are really the expert on this journey.
Step 7: Completing Therapy
Therapy isn’t forever. The goal is empowerment.
When you feel more grounded, connected, and confident in navigating life, we’ll begin to talk about ending therapy. This part of the journey honours your growth and helps you integrate what you’ve learned.

You'll leave with personalized tools and the confidence to face life’s challenges — as your own best therapist.
Step 8: Returning When Life Calls for Support
Therapy is always here for you.
Life evolves. New seasons, losses, or transitions may bring up old wounds or fresh challenges. Many clients return to therapy down the road — not because they’ve failed, but because they’re choosing to care for themselves again.

You’ll always be welcome back.
